Device Lifecycle Infrastructure for HR & Payroll Platforms | GroWrk Embedded
GroWrk Embedded for HR & Payroll

Complete the
employee
lifecycle with the
device lifecycle.

Your platform already knows when someone joins, where they work, what they need, and when they leave. Turn those employee events into global device operations without sending customers to another system.

The gap today

Hiring someone
shouldn't create
an IT side project.

The employee record is already complete in your product: name, country, role, start date, manager, cost center. The laptop workflow starts somewhere else — an email to IT, a spreadsheet of orders, a reseller quote, a courier tracking number pasted into a ticket.

  • The data is in your product. The work is not.

Customers export hire data into a second process that your platform never sees again.

  • Day one slips.

Sourcing, configuration, and cross-border delivery are decided after the start date is already committed.

  • Offboarding leaks assets.

Termination is processed in your product while the laptop stays in an apartment in another country.

  • Nobody owns the record.

HR knows the person, IT knows the device, and no system holds both over time.

The opportunity

Own the part of onboarding your
customers actually complain about.

Device readiness is the most visible failure in onboarding and the least automated. It sits one field away from data you already store.

  • Workflow ownership

Hardware provisioning becomes a step in your onboarding checklist instead of an external dependency.

  • Product depth

Move from recording employment to executing the operational work employment creates.

  • Differentiation

Competing HR suites integrate with device vendors. Yours performs the operation.

  • Retention

A platform that holds physical asset history is far harder to replace at renewal.

  • Fewer vendors for the customer

One workflow replaces reseller, courier, MDM handoff, and recovery vendor coordination.

  • New commercial surface

Device operations can be packaged as a premium capability inside plans customers already buy.

End-to-end workflow

From hire created
to laptop delivered.

One integration covers the joiner path and the leaver path. Every state change returns to your product as an event.

  1. 01

    Hire created

A new employee record is created in your platform with country, role, and start date. Nothing new for the customer to learn.

  2. 02

    Device policy matched

Your customer's approved configuration for this role and country is resolved automatically. No free-text hardware requests.

  3. 03

    Deployment initiated

One call creates the deployment. GroWrk sources the unit in-country rather than shipping it across a border.

  4. 04

    Configured and enrolled

The device is imaged, enrolled for MDM, and prepared to your customer's standard before it ships.

  5. 05

    In transit

Delivery status streams back into the hire record. Recruiters and managers stop chasing IT for a tracking number.

  6. 06

    Delivered and assigned

The asset is written back against the employee. Your product now holds the device history, not a vendor portal.

Software in. Hardware out.

Software is only half the infrastructure.

Writing the endpoint is the easy part. Behind one call sits the network that has to actually source, configure, move, recover, and retire hardware in the country the employee lives in.

Where the line sits

Your product owns the experience.
GroWrk operates the infrastructure.

The boundary is deliberate: everything your customer sees stays yours, everything physical is ours to run.

Your product owns

The experience

  • Onboarding and offboarding UI
  • Device policies and approvals
  • Customer relationship and support tier
  • Packaging and pricing
  • Business logic and permissions
  • Reporting inside your product
GroWrk operates

The infrastructure

  • Local sourcing in each market
  • Imaging, enrollment readiness, accessories
  • Delivery and delivery exceptions
  • Warehousing and stock
  • Employee retrieval and inspection
  • Certified wiping, resale, recycling
Why it matters

Three reasons HR platforms
embed device infrastructure.

  1. 01

    Make day-one readiness
    part of onboarding.

Onboarding checklists already track contracts, payroll setup, and access. The laptop is the one item that leaves your product and comes back as a complaint.

    • Trigger from the hire record, not a separate order form
    • Delivery targets tied to the start date
    • Status visible to HR, IT, and the hiring manager
  2. 02

    Keep HR and IT working
    from one lifecycle.

Employee state and asset state stay in the same system of record, so transfers, replacements, and terminations stay consistent.

    • One record per device across its whole life
    • Assignment history follows the employee
    • Audit evidence retrievable through the API
  3. 03

    Add a valuable service without
    becoming a logistics company.

You ship an integration. GroWrk carries suppliers, warehouses, couriers, customs handling, and disposition partners.

    • No vendor network to recruit or manage
    • Coverage expands without new headcount
    • Operational escalation handled by GroWrk
Product & developers

Different ways into the same
lifecycle infrastructure.

Most HR integrations start with the REST API and webhooks. The other interfaces exist when you need them — not as a requirement.

Explore the API
  • REST API

Create deployments, retrievals, and transfers from your onboarding logic.

  • Webhooks

Every lifecycle transition returns as an event; no polling to keep records fresh.

  • CLI & Automation

Bulk operations and scripted backfills for migrations and large customers.

  • MCP & AI Agents

Let an HR assistant start a deployment or retrieval inside approval limits.

  • White-label

Employee-facing communications can carry your brand where scoped.

  • Permissions & approvals

Scopes per tenant, plus approval gates on spend and disposition.

Embedded infrastructure

One integration. An entire
physical operations layer.

Your developers work with a handful of software primitives. GroWrk absorbs the operational complexity underneath them.

Commercial models

How HR platforms package it.

Partners choose the model. GroWrk does not dictate end-customer pricing.

  • Premium capability

Device operations included in a higher plan tier alongside onboarding automation.

  • Add-on module

A purchasable module attached to the existing subscription.

  • Per-event service

Charged per deployment, retrieval, or disposition event.

  • Enterprise bundle

Included in multi-country enterprise agreements as a differentiator.

GroWrk does not set end-customer pricing. Commercial terms are agreed during partnership design.

Why GroWrk

Why GroWrk.

  • Lifecycle, not shipping

Procurement through disposition in one model, so recovered devices re-enter the same flow.

  • Global execution

Device operations supported across more than 150 countries.

  • Built to be embedded

API, webhooks, CLI, and MCP designed for partners rather than an end-user dashboard.

  • Enterprise controls

Scoped permissions, approvals, lifecycle records, and SOC 2 Type 2 controls.

FAQ

HR & Payroll questions.

How does a hire trigger a device deployment?

Your platform calls the deployments endpoint when an employee record is created or an onboarding checklist item is reached. You pass the employee, country, delivery target, and either a device SKU or a policy identifier. GroWrk resolves sourcing and returns a deployment object plus webhook events for every subsequent state change.

Can customers define their own approved device policies?

Yes. Policies are configured per tenant and can vary by role, seniority, region, or entity. Your product decides how those policies are presented and who can override them; GroWrk enforces the resolved configuration when sourcing.

Can devices arrive already enrolled in MDM?

Devices can be prepared for zero-touch enrollment so they land in your customer's management posture on first boot. GroWrk does not replace the MDM — it makes sure the hardware arrives ready for it.

How do employee and asset records stay synchronized?

Every lifecycle transition emits a webhook: created, configured, shipped, delivered, assigned, retrieval requested, received, wiped, redeployed, retired. You store the device ID against the employee record and update it from events rather than polling.

What happens when an employee leaves?

A termination in your product can create a retrieval. GroWrk arranges pickup with the employee, tracks transit, receives and inspects the unit, performs certified wiping, and then stores, redeploys, resells, or recycles it according to the customer's policy.

Can GroWrk interact directly with employees when required?

Yes, for scheduling pickups, delivery coordination, and packaging instructions. The degree of branding on those communications is defined during partnership scoping.

Which countries can be supported?

GroWrk supports device lifecycle operations across more than 150 countries. Available services and lead times vary by market, and coverage is confirmed for the markets that matter to your customer base during scoping.

Can the whole experience stay under our brand?

Partner implementations are designed so the customer stays inside your product. White-label scope — including employee-facing communications — is agreed as part of the partner model.
