Top 10 Home Office Setups on Twitter: October 2022

We are back with a new edition of the Top 10 home office setups on Twitter for October 2022. But first, we will discuss some recent trends in remote work.

Starting with good news, in early October, Bloomberg reported that people with disabilities were hired in record numbers in 2022. The news outlet informed that about 5.6 million disabled men and women ages 16-64 were employed in August, based on data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The share of people with disabilities working or looking for work was 37.6% that month, almost five percentage points higher than in April 2020, at the start of the pandemic.

Our newsletter, The Remote Times, covers the latest tidbits and news on remote work trends. This will be fresh and crisp in your inbox every Friday, so check it out for interviews with remote work experts, curated content, and podcasts on remote work-related topics.

As remote working has become more popular, more and more people are sharing their WFH setups. Some want to show off the time and effort put into creating their ideal setup, while others wish to inspire through their journey.

Whatever the intent, we are happy to rank the top WFH setups for October 2022 all workspace lovers and nerds. As always, we included the fan-favorite "Funny" category! Check it out below, and don't forget to share it with friends and family!

10.

Starting off October’s ranking is this extraordinary setup by @rui314. What first caught our eye was the Kinesis Advantage360 keyboard. On a closer look, we can tell there’s no desk and chair but rather a desk riser on a kitchen counter.

Hear us out. While this may not look like your usual gamer setup with mood lighting and customized PCs, there’s an unmistakable ingenuity in bringing together a robust and functional space.

The specs for this setup include an Apple Pro Display XDR powered by a Mac Studio to an SSH to a Threadripper 3990X Linux box. As for accessories, there’s a Shure MV7 microphone with an Elgato arm, a Logitech Streamcam, and Sony headphones.

While we love the mood lighting and the personality-filled gamer workstations, it’s clear that @rui314 has down pat the best way to be productive. Who says a WFH setup must be in an office with a desk and chair?

9.

Spot number 9 of October’s ranking goes to @shayla__love’s cozy corner. This setup leans towards the classic laptop-on-desk combination. However, its strength doesn’t only come from the equipment but from the beautiful room.

The Macbook, the wireless keyboard and the mouse seem perfect for writing. Meanwhile, the natural light and the lush trees in the background are sure to keep anyone inspired.

We believe that a good setup is equal parts equipment and space. Having powerful tools is excellent for productivity, but having a calm space to work from gives you peace of mind.

@shayla__love is sure to put out some excellent writing thanks to this setup. We hope that the matcha was delicious!

8.

Sitting on spot number 8, we have @Chau_codes’ setup. This workstation is powered by a Macbook (not pictured) on the left side of the desk. The display is an LG Ultrawide Dual Monitor with a screen bar and webcam. On the desk, there’s a NuPhy keyboard with a wrist rest, a wireless mouse, headphones, a mic on an adjustable arm, and an audio interface. Bringing it all together is the mood lighting coming from behind the desk.

The workstation is perfect for someone who is into streaming or podcasting. It’s sleek, clean, and minimal, with a touch of cute. The panda pot holding a succulent and the colorful keys of the NuPhy keyboard bring personality to an already unique space.

7.

This setup by @samuelofc is a masterpiece, at least for the desktop background showing the work by British artist Iva Troj created to mark the launch of the Halo Infinite video game.

It’s impressive how with very few elements this setup manages to look powerful and sleek. The two curved displays and the massive PC case take center stage. A white keyboard and mouse, a Steelseries mat, and an audio interface complete the setup.

Although the hardware looks powerful and grand, the room has a relaxed feel thanks to the Elgato key lights casting a soft glow behind the desk. We’re only left wondering how big of a Halo fan @samuelofc is.

6.

This setup by @brittnaynay3 is nothing short of impressive. We would name this a professional home office just because of the level of detail. The setup is composed of three monitors with one screen bar, an ergonomic keyboard plus a regular one, a streamdeck, an Echo Show, a Helicon GoXLR channel mixer, a microphone on a mic arm, two speakers, two game controllers, headphones and a laptop. All this gear is powered by a huge PC case that sits on its own desk.

What we love about this setup is the way @brittnaynay3 is using PC parts and keyboards as decor. The eight pieces on the backlit shelves give the room a gallery vibe where @brittnaynay3 can proudly show off all her components.

The gamer chair and the footrest make the room look cozy. Meanwhile, a furry friend is taking a nap next to @brittnaynay3’s chair. The question here is not how many hours of streaming @brittnaynay3 can fit in a day but how many hours she can go without playing with the little one.

5.

Coming in at number 5, we have @Prathkum’s simple but powerful setup. With two MacBooks, a laptop on a vertical stand, two monitors, and an iPad, it’s safe to say that this is a productive workstation.

We love how the purple mood lighting coming from behind the desk matches the microphone and the Macbook’s background. The ergonomic mouse and the wireless mechanical keyboard tie the desk together, while the Airpods and the water bottle remind you that an actual human is working on this sleek station.

The cable management is impeccable for this setup, so congrats, @Prathkum! We would only recommend adding a desk mat to avoid scratches.

4.

This setup by @JaidenAnimation is an anime fan’s dream. Three acoustic panels made with One Piece collages hang on the wall behind the desk, while the backgrounds on the two monitors are illustrations of a Japanese street and the desk mat features a Tokyo skyline print.

The setup itself is composed of two monitors stacked on top of each other on a desk mount, a see-through PC case with LED lights, a customized Elgato Stream Deck, a Babyface Pro audio interface, a Shure microphone on its mic arm, a custom mechanical keyboard with wrist rest, a wireless mouse, speakers and what looks like a drawing tablet.

It’s terrific how @JaidenAnimation managed to color-coordinate all the details in the room with cool tones–even the keyboard cord is purple! We love how @JaidenAnimatio’s personality shines through this setup while using a relatively simple layout. Well done!

3.

The coveted third place in our October WFH setup ranking goes to @acnh_kayleen. You can tell at first glance there are three things @acnh_kayleen loves: Animal Crossing, keyboards, and the color green.

That’s not an understatement. We counted at least eight keyboards –all having something green on them– on the walls and under the desk. There are two Animal Crossing controllers with custom paw buttons, an Animal Crossing sign, and a smaller paw decoration. Green is everywhere, from the color of the walls to the desktop backgrounds and all the way to the keyboard keys. The plants even make this setup feel like it came out of the forest.

The setup itself consists of a green iMac with a webcam on top, an extra monitor with a screen bar, a mechanical keyboard, a mouse, speakers, and a Nintendo Switch console. We can also tell @acnh_kayleen loves pumpkins. We counted at least seven of them lying around on the desk.

This workstation screams autumn, cozy vibes. From the fuzzy blanket on the gamer chair to the crochet decor on the shelves, this setup will make anyone feel warm and welcome. The Let’s Game neon sign brings everything together to assert that this is a gamer’s place. We are curious how many more pumpkin decorations can be found in @acnh_kayleen’s house.

2.

This minimal setup by @ryancarson takes second place for its simplicity and coziness. Something about the yellow light and the RODEcaster PRO’s colorful glow makes this workstation feel like an Autumn dream.

The setup is composed of an iMac with a Magic Keyboard and Trackpad, a mic on an adjustable arm, a pair of Bose headphones, and the already mentioned RODEcaster PRO. All the gear sits on a standing desk with a natural wood finish.

The elements in the room, like the wooden console table, the upholstered chairs, and the oriental-style rug, make this workstation feel like a proper home office.

We can tell that @ryancarson is already making good use of this perfect podcasting corner. Excellent work!

1.

Drumroll, please! The winner of our October 2022 WFH setup ranking is @TriumphArts. This month’s winners have displayed different levels of coziness throughout their setups. However, @TriumphArts takes the crown for masterfully bringing together a powerful workstation with a relaxed atmosphere.

The tri-corner wooden desk holds a transparent PC case with red LED lighting that powers the whole setup. There are two monitors stacked on a desk mount, a mechanical keyboard, a mouse pad, a pair of headphones, and a microphone on a mic arm. The Razer Kiyo webcam and the Nommo speakers complete the sleek look of this setup.

The Logitech racing wheel on the right side of the desk fits perfectly into the design without looking disorganized. We like to think @TriumphArts carefully planned this setup to feel elegant without sacrificing the power of the gaming gear.

Thank you, @TriumphArts,  for sharing your fantastic setup. We’re only curious to know if the plant and the fire extinguisher are real.

Funny

This setup shared by @MewPeachu had us rolling on the floor. The resourcefulness is definitely there. Not to mention the sustainability of upcycling cardboard boxes for a desk. In full honesty, with a little cable management, this could be perfect for anyone wanting to set up an improvised desk situation after moving homes.

It was well worth breaking immersion to share this, @MewPeachu. You made our day!
